Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Proposition 100 is a ballot measure to temporarily raise the Arizona state sales tax by 1 cent per dollar, with the proceeds going to education, health and human services, and public safety. The measure passed. The measure adds to Article IX of the Constitution of the State of Arizona. Included in the constitutional amendment is a clause which automatically repeals the tax on May 31, 2013. Two-thirds of any revenue is designated for primary and secondary education, while one-third of the revenue is designated for both health and human services and public safety. The ballot measure is a referendum which was voted on in a special election, May 18, 2010. The Arizona state sales tax was raised from 5.6% to 6.6% until 2013, at which point it would be automatically repealed.
